Ticket sales from performances and earned income account for less than half of The Grand Opera House’s annual operating budget. We rely on the generosity of our donors to fill these important needs: To ensure high-quality programming as presented by The Grand since our very first season of performances in 1973-74 To offer meaningful arts education programs through group instruction, individual lessons, public performances and workshops, serving well over 15,000 children annually To serve as a “home for the arts” with artistic residents – Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Opera Delaware and First State Ballet Theatre To open our doors for other arts organizations, non-profit groups and businesses as host to their special events and performances To maintain this nationally significant historic theater – a symbol of community pride since 1871, a quality of life asset for the Brandywine Valley, and an economic driver for Wilmington’s downtown revitalization
