The Reminders

featuring Special Guest The McCrary Sisters

Delaware’s premier Americana/gospel/roots/praise trio, The Reminders, makes a joyful noise indeed. The trio’s deftly simple performances and warm harmonies make it sound like John Thompson, Kevin Short, and Ed Shockley are playing and singing in your living room, favorite coffee house, or sanctuary. Thoughtful and inviting faith is sung here - faith in friends and family, faith in the tides and new chances, faith in the responses and calls of others to surpassing peace - faith in God. Like the narrators in their songs, these voices say we’re all creatures of history, wrestlers with demons, searchers for something sacred and moments of grace.

John Thompson’s songs, including gospel standard El Shaddai and Sanctuary, have been recorded by stars as diverse as Amy Grant and the London Philharmonic and have sold more than 10 Million copies worldwide. Ed Shockley, best known for his band Jack of Diamonds, started his long music career in Delaware, and after a long stint in Manhattan, has come back full circle. Kevin Short, a well-established Sussex County music producer and performer, has produced recordings for the Smithsonian Folkways, Sierra, and RCA/BMG labels.
