Cheech & Chong

Their comedy albums (Big Bambu) and movies (Up in Smoke) were the half-baked backdrop for much of the 1970s and ‘80s. Richard “Cheech” Marin and Tommy Chong’s routines and catchphrases that celebrated the hippie-stoner culture of the time were memorized and repeated at college parties and around the watercooler; who can forget Basketball Jones, Sister Mary Elephant, and the legendary “Dave’s not here, man?” Their 1974 Los Cochinos album won the Grammy for Best Comedy Album. After a long period of estrangement, Cheech and Chong reunited in recent years and are back on tour with their uniquely loose and loony comedy.
