Carolina Chocolate Drops

featuring Special Guest Bombadil

Three young musicians, Dom Flemons, Rhiannon Giddens, and Justin Robinson, freshly reinterpret the old-time, fiddle and banjo-based music of the Piedmont region of the Carolinas. They call themselves The Chocolate Drops as a tip of the hat to the Tennessee Chocolate Drops, three brothers Howard, Martin and Bogan Armstrong, who lit up the music scene in the 1930’s. Their 2010 album Genuine Negro Jig garnered the 2011 Grammy® award for Best Traditional Folk Album. Their success has proven why “The Carolina Chocolate Drops are still the most electrifying acoustic act around.” - The Guardian
