Over two decades ago, k.d. lang launched her career with a blend of country-rock stylings and playful punk attitude. Since then, the Canadian singer has defied genres, creating whimsical and subversive pop while winning multiple Grammy awards. Perhaps best known for her critical and commercial hit “Constant Craving,” which earned her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1993, lang has partnered with many notable artists, dueting with Roy Orbison on “Crying” and collaborating with Elton John, Tony Bennett, Bonnie Raitt, and Madeleine Peyroux. Bennett himself may, in fact, be lang’s greatest fan, declaring to the press what so many fans have come to believe over the last two and a half decades: "She's the best singer of her generation."
