The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band formed in Southern California during the spring of 1966 as a scruffy, young jug band. Over fourty years later, the quartet is still going strong, combining the best of their country, folk, and rock influences. These multiple Grammy winners, perhaps best known for their two-part album project Will the Circle be Unbroken, have collaborated with artists such as Earl Scruggs, Johnny Cash, Emmylou Harris, Levon Helm, Chet Atkins, Bruce Hornsby, John Hiatt, Roseanne Cash, and Jerry Jeff Walker, who visits the Grand this year with a full band.

With a career that spans five decades, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has gone from a hippie jug-band to pioneers of country rock, and their influence is still being felt today!
