For over forty years, Hot Tuna founders Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady have encapsulated electric blues. From their roles as original members of Jefferson Airplane, the Kaukonen-Casady duo created the classic psychedelic blues-rock sound, and their jam sessions eventually led to the birth of Hot Tuna. The group has toured and recorded steadily for over four decades. Hot Tuna’s previous show at The Grand featured a team-up with classic blues-harp player Charlie Musselwhite and country guitarist Jim Lauderdale; this time, the group will be joined by rock guitarist Steve Kimock.
Hot Tuna is famed for their live shows, where both energy and musicianship take center stage. Their acclaimed live performances and unique guitar talents have landed both Kaukonen and Casady into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the rest of Jefferson Airplane.
