for winning the 2013 In the Spotlight competition!

On June 2, Wilmington Youth Jazz Band took home first place in the regional, multi-disciplinary talent competition. They beat out 22 acts to win by blowing everyone away with their rendition of “Red Clay” by Freddie Hubbard. To learn more about the organization, please visit www.wyjb.org.

Congrats as well to Colleen Scott and Cole Haden! Colleen won over the crowd with her powerful voice as she sang "When I Look at You” from The Scarlet Pimpernel, landing her in 2nd place. Cole, who came in 3rd, transported everyone back to the ‘80s as he sang “Genesis” by Grimes playing a key-tar and synthesizer for accompaniment.
