Rock Academy at The Grand
Want to learn how to rock??
Learn how to rehearse and perform with a small rock group at Rock Academy at The Grand. Throughout the two-week program you will develop creative techniques for blending varied styles, learn music theory, composition, improvisation, and much more. Then strut your stuff with a public performance on Market Street!
Open to all musicians: Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals, Piano, Keyboard, Strings, Brass, Reeds. Ages 10-18. Click here for the registration form.
Two-Week Summer Sessions:
I. June 17-28
II. July 8-19
III. July 22-August 2
· Rehearse Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1-3pm
- Perform a showcase on Market Street
Guitar instructor Shaun Dougherty is a native of Delaware, graduated from A.I. DuPont High School and Berklee College of Music. He is on the faculty of the Arts Academy at The Grand, as well as teaches guitar ensembles at Cab Calloway School of the Arts and St. Marks High School. Shaun brings more than 25 years of experience in playing, teaching, producing, writing, and touring.
